Setup of BlackBerry 7130g to Laptop Windows XP using BlackBerry Universal USB Cable for GPRS

Prerequisite
• In order to use the handset on Windows XP you will require a minimum of Service Pack 2. Service Packs can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com
• Blackberry Desktop Manager is available to download from www.blackberry.com
• Please ensure that you are logged onto the PC with an account that has administrative rights
• Please ensure your service provider has enabled the SIM card for the GPRS service
• Please ensure all open applications are closed before proceeding
• Please ensure the handset is not connected to the PC before starting the installation
• Please ensure you might charged by your operator for using GPRS through PC

Installing the software
• On the PC, run `the BlackBerry Desktop Manager` software install following the on screen prompts
• When the `Intergration Options` screen appears select `BlackBerry Internet Service` and carry on following the on screen prompts
• When the software installation has completed ensure that `Yes, I want to start the Desktop Manager Software` is ticked and untick `Yes, i want to view the Readme file`
• Click `Finish`
• The `Disabled - BlackBerry Desktop Manager` window will appear, a Warning screen will appear click OK and press `Options`
• Click `Connection Settings`
• In the `Connection drop down menu` select `USB`
• Connect the handset to the USB cable and connect the USB cable to the PC
• On the PC, press `Detect`
• If the `Device Password Required` window appears enter the Password for your BlackBerry and click `OK`
• On the `Connection Settings` screen click `OK`

Setting up the modem
• On the handset, using the jogwheel scroll to `Turn Wireless On` and press the `Enter Key`
• On the PC, Click `Start`, `Settings` and `Control Panel`
• If necessary, click `Switch to Classic View` using the left menu
• Double click `Phone and Modem Options`
• If the `Location Information` window appears, in the `What area code (or city code) are you in now?` field enter your area code and click `OK`
• Click the `Modems` tab
• Highlight `Standard Modem`, click `Properties`
• Click the `Advanced` tab
• In the `Extra initialization commands` box, enter AT + CGDCONT = 1 , "IP" , "indosatgprs" (without any space)
• Click `OK` twice to return to the `Control Panel`

Setting up the Connection
• On the PC, double click `Network Connections`
• Click `Create a new connection`, click `Next`
• Select `Connect to the Internet`, click `Next`
• Select `Set up my connection manually`, click `Next`
• Select `Connect using a dial-up modem`, click `Next`
• If the `Select a Device` window appears, ensure that `Modem – Standard Modem` is the only option ticked and click `Next`
• In the `ISP Name` field, enter ISAT-GPRS, click `Next`
• In the `Phone number` field, enter *99***1# and click `Next`
• In the `User name` field, enter indosat
• In the `Password` field, enter indosat. Enter the same , in the `Confirm password` field and click `Next`
• Click `Finish`

Making the connection
• On the PC, the connection window will appear
• If prompted, enter indosat in the `User name` field and in the `Password` field
• Click `Dial`

You will now be connected to the GPRS service
